“perfect mix of hospitality and comfort - great location”
This is a superb product right on the beach in a secret under rated area outside Cape Town. Gordons Bay is 10 minutes drive to wine farms, 5 minutes to a beautiful coastal drive, and only 40 minutes from Cape Town airport. The place itself is better value than most cape town centre based, camps bay, or seapoint based products, way safaer, way friendlier on the pocket, and we walked to dinner and felt very much like we were in a remote coastal village, rather than near a mgea city. ideal for families, honeymooners, and ven business men wanting a break from the usual rat race of the Cape Town city centre
“A Lovely Place To Stay In Gordon's Bay”
We selected Manor On The Bay because of its location and excellent reviews. It is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and views over the bay. Free parking (inside the premises) and WiFi, delightful breakfast, and excellent service made our one-night stay very enjoyable. Highly recommended.
“Fantastic Stay”
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of trip. We choose Gordons Bay for access to the airport, and the wine area. What we didn't realise when we booked was what a good choice we made. Although we read travel guides and TA extensively, we now feel this location is understated. The coastal drive from Gordons Bay to Betty's Bay was fantastic (our favourite and much better than Chapman's Peak). We went to many wine estates but none beautiful than Vergelegen which is only a few miles away. The wine was good too.
As for Manor on the Bay, this was the most comfortable, luxurious place we stayed. The welcome, the staff and the breakfast as good as anywhere in our 3 weeks and 8 different accomodations. |
