Dear Guests and Friends
I'd like to wish you a very happy, healthy and memorable 2006.
2005 certainly proved to be very memorable one for Manor on the Bay. We extended the 6 bedrooms to a 12 bedroom ( including 4 self catering units and 1 wheelchair friendly room) guesthouse. We also added a beautiful, modern in-house beauty salon called PURE. Juanita Rabie is the therapist and she works with Dermalogica products. Her vast experience in the industry has made her into a very good and professional therapist. What can be better than a full body massage after a long day on the beach or a good day in the Winelands or golf course? Other treatments include facials, pedicures, manicures, massages, waxing and reflexology.
The extensions and renovations went very well and the great team of builders and architect finished on time and left a beautiful product behind. This does not happen often in the building industry as we're constantly reminded by those in the know. For this we're extremely thankful for. The closed patio area with build in braai facility now serves as the lounge and has proved to be very popular.
A media launch was held on 25 November to showcase the new additions to the media. Ingwe wines, With love from Africa jewellery, Pierre Volschenk art and Juanita from PURE told the media about their products. All proudly local! My husband, Schalk, said a few words on our involvement at Val de Vie – the new polo development between Paarl and Franschhoek. We plan to open another guesthouse there in 2008. Visit www.valdevie.co.za for more information.
We plan to renovate the Manor's kitchen during the coming winter. This will be the last phase in renovating this lovely 1862 house that I've got the privilege of looking after.
I hope to see all the lovely regulars back for another visit.
Kind Regards
Hanel van Reenen
