Dear
Friends and Visitors
Welcome Summer!! The flowers are blooming, the beached filled
with sunbathers, the sound of ice-cream trolley's all over
and of course a busy guesthouse. After a long, cold and wet
winter we appreciate the beautiful long sunny days.
October was a very exciting month with the launch of Manor on
the Bay's new website, lots of renovations to the beautiful
1862 Manor and of course Kari's wedding. We are sad in a way
because Corlie left us at the end of October to start as the
manager of another guesthouse. Those of you who have met Corlie
will remember her friendly, professional service and positive
attitude. We'll miss you, Corlie.
Kari and Jan's wedding day was indeed a memorable and very
special one. After the blessed ceremony in the well-known
Gordon's Bay church the receptions was held on the Langverwacht
farm near Kuils River. We were greeted with pink (Everything
was a theme of bright and friendly red and pink shades.) sparkling
wine and mouth watering pre-snacks enjoyed in the unspoiled
raised gardens overlooking the magnificent Table mountain
sun-set. With the old Manor House as backdrop, lots of rose
and lavender bushes as a frame and a calming water feature
to round the picture off - it really was a picture perfect
setting.
Like
all memorable occasions the food, wine, décor and music
were of the best quality. We danced the night away on a selection
of golden oldies and the latest hits!
Most guests stayed on the farm in little chalets and we all
had breakfast at 9 o'clock the next morning, only to find
Jan and Kari still in their wedding clothes
They (and
a few of the never enders at the party) decided to push right
through till sunrise! They made the most of their big day
and we all enjoyed a truly wonderful wedding. They've just
returned from 3 lazy weeks in Croatia - welcome back, Kari.
We wish them a long, happy and blessed life together.
December's newsletter will feature the latest SA tourism
statistics and international tourism trends.
Have a lovely November.
Warm Gordon's Bay Greetings.
