Dear Visitor to Manor on the Bay's website

We at Manor on the Bay are very excited about the launch of our brand new website.
I hope you'll enjoy your journey through our site and that the site will help you to plan your holiday to Manor on the Bay and South Africa.

The newsletter is our way of communicating to you, our potential visitor, previous visitors and friends on what's going on at Manor on the Bay. With the first newsletter there is obviously a lot of news.
Read on to find out more about Kayla's puppies, Attie's vocabulary, Kari's engagement and greetings from the 2 Katriena's.

Kayla's puppies
Kayla ( One of the 2 Old English Sheepdogs ) became the proud mother of 9 little puppies on 31 March 2003. She had a very easy labour ( as most dogs do, apparently ) and was a very good, calm and clean mother. Yuka was unfortunately, not allowed anywhere near them, as Kayla was quite strict on keeping him as far away as possible from his first born.
They were all sold and found good loving families to look after them. We all enjoyed the experience with them, but decided that it was Kayla's first and last litter. Quite a lot of work!

Attie ( Our 1 year old African Gray parrot ) is still the hart and soul of the patio. He's constantly chatting away to however wants to listen. His vocabulary has improved a lot lately. Apparently in year 2 they really start talking. He's learned to say 'Hallo Attie', 'Kayla',' Hanél', 'Bye' and does a perfect imitation of my cars immobilizer. Such a sweet heart!

Yes, Kari ( One of Manor on the Bay's assistants ) and Jan got engaged in April this year. We were all invited to a " house warming" party, which turned out to be their engagement party. And what a nice evening it was! They're getting married on 10 October 2003 on the Langverwacht Wine Estate. Unfortunately I can not give you much more detail, since Kari's very secretive about the whole event. So, don't miss the November newsletter for detail, stories and pictures of their big day.

The 2 Katriena's - our very friendly and helpful cleaning staff - are both still here, thankfully! They both enjoyed a lovely 3 week winter break with family and friends. They're both blessed with good health and are looking forward to welcoming you at Manor on the Bay.

More news is that we are busy with a lot of renovations at Manor on the Bay. Big parts of the garden are being replanted with fresh new flowers and the wall between the 2 smaller rooms in the garden court is being knocked down to create a big family room. Manor on the Bay will now have 6 rooms instead of 7. We thought it was a good idea to have 6 larger rooms, rather that 5 big and 2 smaller ones. You'll have to come and have a look.

Don't miss the November newsletter with photo's of the new room and Kari's wedding pictures.

Warm wishes from a sunny Gordon's Bay
