DE ZALZE WINELANDS GOLF ESTATE
45 min drive from Manor on the Bay
The name De Zalze isderived from the three adjoining wine farms: De Vleie, Klein Zalze, and Groot Zalze farms.
De Zalze Golf Club was designed by renowned architecture Peter Matkovich and opened its gate for business in the year 2000. It offers majestic views to the mountains and the Cape Winelands and is the perfect test for all golfers. The course has an excellent mix of long and short parkland holes moving up and down the undulated valley, as well as the Oak tree lined Blaauwklippen river which winds its way through the Golf Estate and comes into play at various intervals.
The course has a memorable layout with many challenges, especially the second nine. The oak tree lined Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the golf estate comes into play at various intervals. The short par-four 12th is played from an island tee over a large stretch of water to a green that can be driven if you’re brave enough to carry the water. The par five with two fairways is another interesting hole set amongst the citrus trees.
To top it all De Zalze is the first golf course in the world to be Fair Trade certified.
